Every year, ICBA gives out Safety Merits Awards — a $1,500 bonus given to open shop construction professionals who have logged a full year of safe work. They are nominated by their supervisors, and selected by random draw.
We have our fourth and final 2023 ICBA Safety Merits winner: Ed Ekstrom of IWCD, as submitted by the company’s Chief Safety Officer Mike Healy.
Ed works for IWCD’s Excavation Group and has a supportive team that celebrated his win with him. IWC is a specialized civil and general contractor based out of Nanaimo, BC. Their people are what makes them special and allows them to get results that count. They are proud of what they do and are motivated by leading with a culture of excellence and safety.
