ICBA is proud to announce the Fourth Annual Gold Seal Training Scholarships to be presented at ICBA’s 2013 AGM. A Gold Seal Certificate is a declaration of skill and competence recognized by the construction industry from coast to coast. Worth $2,000 these training opportunities cover course registration for the winning company and employee in the ICBA Gold Seal training program. There are 2 scholarships available.
ICBA members are eligible to nominate current employees who have been with them for at least one year. The ideal candidate is someone in a supervisory role of superintendent and above, or an up-and-coming worker ready to move into a senior position.
To nominate someone, you must submit two letters to ICBA:
1. A letter from the company owner, manager or supervisor explaining why Gold Seal training would benefit the employee, the company, and the industry.
2. A letter from the employee explaining what they hope to accomplish with the training.
Training can start as early as November 2013 and the courses must be completed by the end of 2014. Training is available in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Victoria, Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George, Terrace and Fort St. John. It is important to note that the program is a preparation for the written Gold Seal Certification exam. The employee also needs a minimum of five years’ experience to write the exam.
