Construction companies looking for a little bench depth and the opportunity to help the next generation break into the business have the perfect opportunity with to partner with the Coquitlam School District.
That district’s Secondary School Apprenticeship program has a handful of Level 1 Construction Electrician Apprentices ready and able to apply their classroom training and practical lessons in the real world with local firms. It’s their requirement to get on-the job training.
The classwork they’ve done for 2.5 hours a day since last September has focussed on everything from fundamentals to the Electrical Code to motor control and electronics. They are ready to tackle job site tasks like connections on circuitry, conduit bending, pulling wire, “rough in”, finishing, and some motor control.
Students are available to bring their enthusiastic approach to your jobs on evenings and weekends starting now. When school wraps on June 28 they’ll be ready to work full-time – either for the summer or for as long as you’ll have them.
The program also has young apprentices looking for experience in other trades like carpentry, plumbing/piping, and metal fabrication.
