bcctc_logo_low_resMany great tradespeople take a foreman position and fail. Not for lack of skills or drive but simply for lack of guidance on how to be a great foreman.

That’s why ICBA is criss-crossing the province with its one-day course for foremen to get a handle on the fundamentals of field leadership, organization, crew morale, efficiency, and productivity.

Issues covered in the course include understanding why and how many foremen fail, how the foreman’s role has changed, and dealing with workplace conflict without being a jerk. Participants will also tap into key skills like learning how to anticipate production and jobsite issues, understanding general and subcontractor dynamics, and understanding their major role in increasing jobsite productivity.

This course will help your foremen unleash the leader within.

Successful Interviewing Workshop: To be successful in hiring the best qualified employees who also fit your organization’s culture, you need to approach the interview as a process. There are several tasks in this process that can be divided into three steps based on when it should take place.

Step 1: What to do before the interview?
Step 2: What to do during the interview?
Step 3: What to do after the interview?

This half day workshop slated for June 20 in Burnaby will explore the necessary tasks before, during and after the interview to make the process effective – including creating a job description, screening applications, creating interview questions, conducting the interview, evaluating the interview, legal obligations to consider, plus more.
